The Polaris Strategic Solutions team is delighted to congratulate our valued client Berkshire Medical Center (BMC) for recently being ranked #1 in the nation for its composite measure of PSI-90 Patient Safety Indicators.
Developed by the Agency for Research and Quality (AHRQ), PSI-90 indicators provide an overview of quality with respect to potentially preventable hospital-related events associated with harmful patient outcomes. These events include (but are not limited to) pressure ulcer, iatrogenic Pneumothorax, post-operative hip fracture, perioperative hemorrhage or hematoma, perioperative pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis, postoperative sepsis, and accidental puncture of laceration.
Based on data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service covering the most recent statistical period available (July/13-June/15), BMC obtained the lowest score compared to more than 3,200 hospitals across the country. For more information, read the press release.
Polaris congratulates the entire BMC team for achieving the best patient safety levels in the country!
